HokieSpokes began operations in March 1989 in an old movie theatre where Ceritano's is presently situated. After only three months the store was moved to 217 W. College Avenue (under the bar "Top of the Stairs"). It operated there for nine months and was then relocated to 400 N. Main ST (across the side street from the Hokie House), where it remained for six years. In May 1996, a move was completed to 101 S.Main ST. Since then, the shop has been two more places. We are currently located at 424 N. Main ST, near Mike's Grill. Dave Abraham, the sole proprietor, had several years experience in both the wholesale and retail levels of the bicycle business prior to the 1989 start-up. The longevity of the shop and the friendly atmosphere bespeaks a customer-centered focus and good service.
